University of Mosul Professors and Students Pay Scientific Visit to Seismic Crew 7 in Nineveh

Within enhancing the practical and applied aspect of the students of the Department of Geology, a number of professors and students of the University of Mosul, College of Science, in coordination with the Geologists Syndicate, Mosul Branch, organized a scientific visit to the headquarters of Seismic Crew 7, one of the formations of OEC Field Work Division, on Thursday, 20 February 2025, in Nineveh Governorate. During the visit, in which they were accompanied by Mr. Emad Jassim, head of the crew, the students were briefed on the latest technologies used in seismic activity and the mechanisms of work of seismic crews, where the specialists in the crew gave a full explanation about the nature of the work of seismic devices and seismic mechanisms. Moreover, field applications were conducted to enhance the practical understanding of the students.

The participants praised the importance of this scientific experiment, which contributes to linking theoretical knowledge with practical applications, stressing the need to continue such events because of their role in developing students' skills and raising their level of efficiency in the geological field.
