 The Processing and Information Management Division at the Iraqi Oil Exploration Company is one of the important entities working to develop and enhance technical capabilities to support exploratory operations. These efforts come within the company’s endeavor to innovate and achieve sustainability in the field of exploration for oil and gas. The processing and information management Division at the Oil Exploration Company possesses global systems, advanced devices and software in the field of seismic data processing, which gives the company special technical capabilities to analyze and process data obtained from seismic crews throughout Iraq.                                                                                         

This is the only formation in Iraq deals with 2D & 3D seismic data processing , as well as processing of VSP , with Iraqi efforts.                         

furthermore, archiving the geological and geophysical oil information and managing them are added to the above tasks using the latest global systems and applications through the Oil Data Bank, which is considered one of the advanced banks comparable to what exists in international companies.

Achievements in 2023..                                                                                       

The Processing and Information Management Division has made important achievements during  2023, as the processing of seismic data for five 2D projects and three other 3D projects, as well as (VSP) operations, was completed and has been referred to the Quality Control Department to prepare an integrated geological study on the explored areas, this is done through the use of Advanced global systems such as Omiga, Geovision, and I-COS, which contribute in processing 2D & 3D seismic data in an advanced manner.                                                                

In addition to prepare information of the licensing rounds for fifth and sixth rounds appendices, and holding workshops and courses for upstream sector companies in the field of oil information management.

 The Processing and Information Management Division at Oil Exploration Company is an essential factor in enhancing the company's technical capabilities, the achievements achieved in the past year reflect the company's commitment to continuous development and innovation in the field of search and exploration for oil and gas resources.
