The Oil Exploration Company Holds its 17th Board Meeting for 2026

The Oil Exploration Company held on Mon. 30/3/2026 its 17th Board meeting (the third this year), chaired by the Director General, Dr. Osama Raouf Hussein, and attended by the Board members.

 

The meeting began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a welcoming address of the Director General. The Board reviewed technical and financial performance reports and following up the progress of seismic survey programs and exploration projects, emphasizing the importance of adhering to established timelines to support the development plans for the oil sector in Iraq.

 

 The Board decided to utilize the assets of the 5th and 8th seismic crews to support the crews working on foreign-funded projects within the licensing rounds, aiming to expedite completion, reduce time, and achieve greater economic returns.

 

 The Board also discussed the security challenges facing the seismic crews, stressing the importance of strengthening coordination with security forces to provide a safe working environment and commending the significant efforts of the staff under difficult field conditions.

 

The meeting also addressed ways to enhance coordination among the company's various departments, improve institutional performance, and develop the work environment. Future investment plans were also discussed, with an emphasis on adhering to the highest occupational safety standards.

 

At the end of the meeting, the Director General stressed the need to increase efforts and work as a unified team to achieve the company's strategic objectives. This will contribute to the discovery and development of hydrocarbon resources and compensate the depleted for supporting the national economy.
