The Oil Exploration Company Holds a Technical Workshop Entitled “The Importance of implementing Frequent 3D Seismic Surveys”
The Oil Exploration Company, in cooperation with Schlumberger Oilfield Services, held at Mohammed Fawzi Hall on Mon. 8/9/2025 a technical workshop entitled “The Importance of implementing Frequent 3D Seismic Surveys”.
The manager of the Geology and Geophysics Division, Mr. Ali H. Hajouj, started the operations of the workshop, while the representative of Schlumberger, Mr. Waseem Al-Wardi, delivered the lecture.
The workshop aimed to highlight the technical importance and economic feasibility of 4D seismic surveys, their role in accurately identifying reservoir oil accumulations, and reducing production and development costs by providing advanced solutions for managing and characterizing oil reservoirs.
The workshop was attended by several managers of relevant divisions and departments, representatives of oil companies, and the Directorate of Reservoir and Field Development. A lively and productive discussion regarding 4D seismic survey technology and its global applications, as well as the potential for its adoption in the development and management of Iraqi oil fields.
This workshop was held in accordance with the policy of the Oil Exploration Company, under the auspices of its Director General, Dr. Osama Raouf Hussein, to adopt the latest exploration and appraisal technologies, and in line with the directives of the leadership of the upstream sector at the Ministry of Oil.
