The Director General of Oil Exploration Company Receives a Delegation of Sinopec

The Director General of Oil Exploration Company, Dr. Osama Raouf Hussein, received on Sun. 21/9/2026 a delegation of the Chinese company Sinopec. During the meeting, they discussed and reviewed the seismic survey operations for Adan and Sumer blocks in Al-Muthanna Governorate.

 On the sidelines of the meeting, a separate meeting was held in Ninawa Hall, chaired by the Assistant Director General for Technical Affairs, Mr. Abbas M. Ali, attended by Sinopec delegation, along with representatives from the Geology and Geophysics Division and the Field Operations Division, as well as the Deputy Manager of the Quality Control Department, Mr. Walid Shaker Tawfiq.

The meeting addressed the technical standards to be adopted for conducting the 2D seismic survey in the aforementioned blocks, ensuring the accuracy of the results and the success of the upcoming phases of the work.

At the end of the meeting, the attendees affirmed that this step represents an important start towards strengthening cooperation with international companies, which contributes to supporting the oil exploration sector and opens promising prospects for investing national resources, serving the future of Iraq and enhancing its position in the field of energy.
