The Director General of Oil Exploration Company Participates in the National Conference Entitled "Higher Education Serve the Knowledge Economy", Strengthening Integration Between Education and the Labor Market
Based on the interest of the Director General of Oil Exploration Company, Dr. Osama Raouf Hussein, and his commitment to supporting scientific and academic forums, and in recognition of the importance of integration between educational institutions and the labor sectors, he actively participated in the National Conference Entitled "Higher Education Serve the Knowledge Economy".
The conference, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Al-Shahid Al-Hakim Hall at Baghdad University on (14-15/4/2026), with great participation of academic leaders and representatives of governmental institutions.
He emphasized the company's commitment to supporting genuine partnerships between universities and the labor sectors, particularly the oil sector, which is a cornerstone of the national economy.
In his participation, Dr. Osama Raouf Hussein emphasized the importance of reconciliation the higher education outcomes with labor market demands. He referring that strengthening integration between academic and productive institutions contributes to preparing qualified national staff capable of keeping pace with rapid developments and achieving sustainable development goals.
He also explained that the Oil Exploration Company places great importance on supporting scientific and training initiatives and is keen to expand cooperation with Iraqi universities. This enhances the exchange of expertise and improves the efficiency of graduates. The Oil Exploration Company has a distinguished role in scientific and cultural cooperation with Iraqi universities (both public and private) through a scientific cooperation agreement. This agreement includes providing the necessary services and facilities for students and teachers supplying them with the information required to complete their research, offering summer training for students, and providing field training for graduates at various company sites.
The conference addressed several vital topics, including bridging the gap between educational outcomes and labor market needs, highlighting successful experiences in cooperation between universities and various business sectors, and strengthening the role of national institutions in supporting development initiatives.
The participation of the oil exploration company is a qualitative addition to the conference works, as it reflects an active institutional commitment that supports the state’s directions towards developing education and linking it to vital productive sectors.
