Processing Department... A National Leading Center in Seismic Data Processing and a Fundamental Pillar in Achieving the Company's Goals

The operations of the Processing Department at Oil Exploration Company are implemented under the directions and supervision of OEC Director General, Dr. Osama R. Hussein, who is keen to support and develop the company's technical and human capabilities, that contributes to raising performance level and enhansing the company’s leading position in the field of oil exploration.

The Processing Department, which operates in the Processing and Information Management Division at Oil Exploration Company, is the only entity in Iraq that specialized in processing 2D and 3D seismic data, and (VSP) data. This makes it a unique center not only among oil sector companies but across Iraq, due to its possession of advanced equipment and software not available elsewhere.

The department performs its tasks with high accuracy and efficiency, where it has processed (125) batches of seismic data received from the Quality Control Department during this year, related to seismic survey projects carried out by the company’s seismic crews.

The Processing Department is equipped with the latest and advanced systems and devices used in seismic data processing, that are considered leading worldwide technologies. This enables the department to carry out its tasks with advanced efficiency that keeps pace with technological developments in oil and gas industry.

The department's strength depends not only in its technical capabilities but also in its highly qualified and trained staff, consisting of a select group of specialists in seismic data processing with specialized training programs both inside and outside Iraq, enhancing the department’s ability to handle various types of data and exploration projects with high efficiency.
