Oil Exploration Company Put its Scientific Mark in the Seminar (Oil Ninawa: Current Reality and Prospects for Future Exploration) at the University of Mosul

Under the Directions of the OEC Director General, Dr. Osama Raouf Hussein, within the strengthening integration between academic institutions and oil sector, the College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering at the University of Mosul organized a scientific seminar entitled: (Oil Ninawa: Current Reality and Prospects for Future Exploration).

 

The seminar witnessed an active participation of Oil Exploration Company. The company's participation was represented in two main axes, reflecting the depth of technical and field experience possessed by its staff. The first axis was technical, which included a specialized lecture entitled: (Fundamentals and Applications of Reflection Seismic Surveys in Oil and Gas Exploration), presented by Assistant Chief Geologist, an employee in the Field Operations Division, Seventh Seismic Crew.  /Mr. Mohammed N. Thahir. During the lecture, he reviewed the scientific foundations of seismic survey techniques, explaining how to employ waves and frequencies in interpreting geological layers and detecting hydrocarbon reservoirs, in a scientific manner that links theory, application, field axes and  achievement included a lecture entitled: (Ninawa on the Energy Map: Achievements of Oil Exploration Company in Enhancing Hydrocarbon Reserves), delivered by the engineer in the Field Operations Division/Seventh Seismic Crew, Mr. Hussein S. Abbas.

 

In his lecture, he highlighted the exceptional field efforts exerted by the company through its seismic crews and the tangible results achieved, which contributed to strengthening Ninawa Governorate's site within the national energy map and increasing the reliability of geological and exploration data.

 

At the conclusion of the seminar, the participants emphasized the importance of continuing this constructive cooperation, based on a firm conviction that the convergence of science and field experience constitutes a fundamental pillar for building a promising future for Ninawa Governorate and contributes to achieving sustainable development and maximizing the benefit from national resources.
