Oil Exploration Company Organizes Technical Workshop about Al- Mushrif Formation in East Basra

According to the directions of the Director General of Oil Exploration Company, Dr. Osama Raouf Hussein, the Oil Exploration Company organized in Al-Dubouni Hall on Wed. 3/9/2025 a technical workshop.

The workshop, attended by members of the ministerial team from the Oil Exploration Company and Basra Oil Company, discussed the phased results of the study entitled "Structural Influences and Facies Distribution on the Geological Model of Al- Mushrif Formation Platform in East Basra" .

The workshop was chaired by the Assistant Director General for Administrative Affairs, Mr. Hussein S. Owda.

The workshop reviewed the importance of Al-Mushrif Formation as one of the most prominent oil reservoirs in southern Iraq, and the scientific efforts made to diagnose facies changes and depositional environments, prepare lithographic maps, and utilize seismic interpretations to identify promising areas and hydrocarbon potential. This will enhance the Ministry's plans for future exploration and evaluation activities.
