Oil Exploration Company Makes Qualitative Breakthrough in Najaf Desert and Director General Honors Its Staff

Seismic Crew 2 of Oil Exploration Company (OEC) succeeded in completing the seismic survey work in the 2D Tabir Shibl 1 Program in the Najaf desert, with a completion rate of 99.95% of the total program size of 2068.6 km-length, and the number of energy points amounted to 41375. During an inspection visit to Seismic Crew 2 on Saturday, 1 February 2025, OEC Director General, Dr. Osama Raouf Hussein, praised the great efforts made by the technical staff, and expressed his pride in this qualitative breakthrough. “We congratulate the staff of Seismic Crew 2 for this outstanding breakthrough, which reflects their high efficiency, commitment to responsibility and sincerity at work. This success is evidence of the ability of workers to overcome difficulties and achieve the goals of national companies”, he stated. He also stressed the keenness of the senior management to explore these promising areas in line with the directions of the government and the ministry towards exploring oil and gas reservoirs. He also pointed out that OEC will spare no effort in supporting these crews spread throughout Iraq to make more breakthroughs that contribute to the development of the oil sector and strengthen the national economy.

At the end of his visit, the Director General distributed honorary shields to the staff of Seismic Crew 2, in recognition of their great efforts and determination to make this qualitative breakthrough. He praised their sincere giving and dedication in performing their tasks. “May Allah bless your efforts, as you have proven with your hard work and continuous determination that you are highly responsible and loyal to your country and your company. I wish you more success in the upcoming projects.", Dr. Osama Raouf Hussein concluded his statement.

The Director General was accompanied on his tour by Deputy Director General for Technical Affairs, Manager of Field Operation Division, Manager of Financial Department and Deputy Manager of Human Resources Management Department.
