Oil Exploration Company Holds Annual Symposium to Review 2024 Achievements
Under the patronage of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Mr. Hayyan Abdul Ghani Al-Sawad, and under the supervision of the Director General of Oil Exploration Company (OEC), Dr. Osama Raouf Hussein, the company organized its annual symposium to review the achievements made during 2024, under the slogan "Our Achievements: Future Fuel", for the period from 17 to 18 February 2025, at Mohammed Fawzi Hall at OEC headquarters. The symposium was organized by the Planning Division in cooperation with the Public Relations and Media Department, and it began with an opening speech delivered by OEC Director General, in which he explained the challenges faced by the company, the most important of which is cash liquidity, as OEC was able to overcome it and achieve very important successes at the level of the production plan and operational and investment budgets. He also expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by OEC staff in various locations, stressing the importance of integrated work in achieving strategic goals.
The agenda of the symposium included a detailed review of the progress made by the seismic crews and the rest of OEC formations in seismic surveys and geological explorations, in addition to discussing work developments in all divisions and departments, which aim to enhance performance efficiency and achieve accurate results that support the oil sector.
The symposium also witnessed in-depth discussions on the challenges facing exploratory work, ways to develop performance and raise the efficiency of geological and seismic operations, while stressing the importance of coordination between the various divisions and departments to ensure the achievement of the set goals.
At the end of the symposium, the Director General stressed the importance of adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety in the implementation of exploration projects, pointing to the need to continue working hard to achieve more achievements in the oil exploration sector, in a way that contributes to supporting the national economy and securing future oil needs. Further, he directed to grant a letter of thanks and appreciation to all OEC staff, in appreciation of their distinguished efforts in implementing the annual plan of 2024 and making very important achievements.
