Director General of Oil Exploration Company Receives United Energy Group CEO to Discuss Developments in Al-Faw Exploration Block

The Director General of Oil Exploration Company (OEC), Dr. Osama Raouf Hussein, received on 3 Mar 2025 the United Energy Group CEO, Mr. Song Yu, to follow up on developments in Al-Faw exploration block, which the company won its exploration and development rights in the fifth and sixth supplementary licensing rounds.

During the meeting, the work progress in the exploration block and ways to enhance cooperation between the two parties were discussed. It was agreed to explore partnership prospects and visit one of the seismic crews deployed throughout Iraq to review OEC technical capabilities. OEC Director General affirmed OEC readiness to cooperate with international oil companies operating in Iraq, contributing to achieving exploration objectives and developing the oil sector according to the latest standards and technologies.
