Director General Manager of Oil Exploration Company Meets Sinopec Representatives

The Director General of Oil Exploration Company (OEC), Dr. Osama Raouf Hussein, met with representatives of the Chinese company Sinopec on Monday 24/2/2025. On the sidelines of the meeting, the technical committee supervising the two exploratory blocks (Sumer and Adan) held a meeting with Sinopec representatives, and the results of the preliminary interpretations of the information bag and the details of the exploration plans for the two blocks were reviewed.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Thi Qar Oil Company, the Manager of Geology and Geophysics Division, Mr. Ali Hamza Hajouj, the Deputy Manager of Exploratory Studies Department, Mr. Abdul Zahra Iskandar Salman, and representatives of members of the Technical Committee in OEC.

For their part, Sinopec representatives expressed their full commitment to cooperate with the technical committee to achieve positive results that contribute to strengthening the oil sector in the country, praising the measures taken to ensure the functioning of the work in a safe and efficient environment. The meeting concluded with the two sides stressing the importance of continuing to strengthen partnership and continuous coordination to ensure the success of exploration projects in the Sumer and Adan areas.
