The Oil Exploration Company Held a Workshop with the Chinese Company Abu Khaimah, the Operator of Abu Khaimah Field, to Discuss the key Features of the Exploration and Evaluation Plan

Under the directions of the Director General of the Oil Exploration Company, Dr. Osama Raouf Hussein, at the request of Dhi Qar Oil Company, the Oil Exploration Company held at Al-Dubouni Hall on Tue. 18/8/2026 a workshop with the Chinese company Abu Khaimah, the operator of  Abu Khaimah field.

The meeting included the manager of the Geology and Geophysics Division, Mr. Ali H. Hajouj, the manager of the Fields Division in Dhi Qar Oil Company, and representatives from Abu Khaimah Chinese company.

During the meeting, the field operator reviewed the progress of the exploration plan for Abu Khaimah field, as outlined in the minimum contractual obligations.

The results of drilling Abu Khaimah-2 well were also reviewed, as well as the main features of the evaluation plan scheduled for implementation in 2027.

The meeting resulted in the approval of the work volumes and implementation priorities, ensuring an actual evaluation of the hydrocarbon promising of the block and its economic feasibility. Representatives of the Oil Exploration Company confirmed their readiness to carry out seismic surveys in the block area.
