The Board of Directors of the Oil Exploration Company Held its 12th Meeting of its 7th Session
The Board of Directors of the Oil Exploration Company held on Tue. 28/ 10/2025 its 12th meeting within its 7th session, chaired by the Director General of the Company, Dr. Osama Raouf Hussein, in the presence of the members of the Board.
The meeting began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah in remembrance of the late Engineer Radhi Abdul Sahib of the Basra Oil Company, who was martyred in the line of duty, and the late Mr. Wadi Shaalan Yassin, an employee in the Legal Department of the Oil Exploration Company, who passed away after a long illness. Prayers were offered for God's mercy and forgiveness for the deceased, as well as for the speedy recovery of those injured at the Basra Oil Company.
During the meeting, they discussed performance reports and work plans for the seismic crews and the various technical departments and divisions. The progress and remaining phases of ongoing projects within the company's 2025 work plan were reviewed. The Board also reviewed the Finance Department's report, which included monitoring the implementation of budget plans, as well as the Health, Safety, and Environment Department's report, which presented performance indicators in occupational safety and preventive measures at work sites.
The Head of the Board also reviewed the follow-up report on the implementation of the decisions from the previous two sessions (the tenth and eleventh/emergency sessions), submitted by the Board's rapporteur, to ensure the implementation of previous recommendations and decisions and the achievement of the set objectives.
During the meeting, the Director General emphasized the importance of enhancing technical and administrative performance and continuing to improve the efficiency of implementation and the quality of field work to ensure the continued excellence the company has achieved in its specialized fields. He stressed the necessity of adhering to occupational safety and environmental protection standards at all work sites.
At the conclusion of the session, Dr. Osama Raouf Hussein expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts exerted by all company employees, calling for strengthening the spirit of teamwork and continuing to work with a sense of responsibility to achieve the company's strategic objectives and enhance its leading role in supporting the exploration sector in Iraq.
